Madame Restora: in 2008 I asked a friend if she would be voting for Obama. She answered that Obama was a “celebrity politician” and that she wouldn’t vote for such a person. I’m guessing she had no such reservations in 2016 when the same people who had convinced her that Obama was a celebrity turned around in full-throated support of a greasy “reality star” of whom we may never be rid. If you’re looking to us for anything like honor or virtue then save yourself some time and heartbreak: look elsewhere.

I cry for everyone. I live in Toronto and I still cry. In order to find solace I listen to Joni
Mitchell’s song ‘People’s Parties’ with the line ‘laughing or crying, it’s the same release’.
