They were mad from rather horrible shiny vinyl and not available in Poland. One of my friends from the University had them and I was very envious. You needed a contraption similar to garters so they would stay up. Later on I found out that the uniform of the hookers on Rue St. Denis in Paris at that time was over the knee boots, a mini skirt (some went sans mini skirt), a tank top and, since it was November, a fur coat.
