Forever Changes is a great album. I agree with your sons list apart from: Eric Clapton, The Cult & Frank Zappa.

I find that at the ripe old age of 26, most music these days just sounds like a bad copy of something that has been done before. I hate ‘beige’ music with a passion & anything ‘whimsical’. Music has to have a good beat, be raw emotion or made with a computer or I just don’t want to hear.

My top 5 are:

Rainbow Bridge – Jimi Hendrix
The Clash – The Clash
Let It Bleed – The Rolling Stones
Licensed To Ill – Beastie Boys
LA Woman – The Doors

You know, there are a lot of good reasons to hate all the bands on Max’s list but for some reason I cannot outgrow my love for Bon Jovi. Whatever I do, like, learn, say or study my heart still races when their pop songs play. I feel like I ought to confess that I have stopped fighting it sister. Life is too short for me not to like what I like.

I hate The Stone Temple Pilots so much that when they come on the radio in the car, I have to turn it off–no music–until I get to where I’m going. If I don’t do this, it’s bad luck.

Sister – I tried to like them as a teenager, because my town is classic-rock-mad and won’t listen to anything recorded after 1979 most days. I ended up coming to the conclusion that the first word of their name pretty much summed them up for me.

I’ll also join in the love for Massive Attack, if I didn’t have Air on my list they’d be it. I could listen to Mezzanine all day.

Ah! You know I love lists!! How did he miss Kiss? They are, hands down, my least favorite band of all time. As far as top 5 (which mostly stay the same, but occasionally vary):

The Zombies – Odyssey and Oracle
Leonard Cohen – I’m Your Man
David Bowie – Ziggy Stardust
The Scientists – Swampland
And, of course, we share Love’s Forever Changes!

Dru – I like Dire Straits! But not their radio hits.

Thriftshop lawyer – Pixies, check. Magnolia soundtrack, check. You have such a wide range, I’m jealous.

anna dc – We play alot of Curtis Mayfield and Nina Simone and Dylan in our house.

Taylor – Hahahaha, Max hated Kings of Leon, but I sort of like them, in a guilty way.

Bevitron – Max loved soul music too, He eve introduced me to singers I hadn’t heard of in that genre.

MyFriendsHouse – Yep. And Pet sounds would be in my top 10 of course.

Suspended- What’s Going On is such an amazing record, thanks for reminding me.

Audi – Nickleback is a solid choice for worst band. Even my teenager agrees on that.

Jaimi – I see I’ve got to listen to Golden Brown.
