I once insulted a friend by telling him he was looking a bit Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, which I compounded by expalining that he’s a pretty stylish dictator, which I did truly mean as a compliement, I mean for a dictator, he’s HOT. But Ghaddaffi is unparalleled for fashion smarts.

oh yes. I saved a pic of him from the newspaper (remember those?) because he was wearing an outrageous party hat while on a horse or a yak. I take my fashion inspiration from real people doing real things…..like…dictators, carpenters, sailors, soldiers, mountain climbers, ballerinas, and sexy sexy mechanics. Twits like editors of glossy fashion magazines,”fashion bloggers”, and 15 year old girls….meh!
You’re right Sister….if I want to see bang-on trendy clothes on mediocre people with an over-inflated sense of importance…I’d go walk around Tacoma Mall for an hour or 2.

Whenever I read DAPHNE’s name, I hear it in my head as “DAU-PHNEEE”, as if being said by some OLD English crone.
It makes the mood much lighter.

This is a fantastic take on the universality of fashion. Almost seems like parody, yet truth is stranger than fiction and of course fashion/megalomania/facism go hand in hand.
Calling Qaddafi hot though = gross. He is certainly stylish as evidenced here but hot ???
