ok, fair enough, I didn’t realise that there were other unposted comments. Ratzinger has a lot to answer for, particularly regarding the cover up of paedophilia within the Catholic church. The whole bloody Catholic church has a great deal to explain. May I point out though, that the picture (brilliant as it is) is of John Paul and not the Rat.

Noemi – I did read her letter, and also the one’s I haven’t published in which she just calls me a stupid cunt. I can’t understand why she wants to excuse Ratzinger for anything, given the scope of his wrongdoing. I understand the concept of German Guilt but it’s not a problem I want to deal with.

Dear Sister Wolf,

I love your blog and I’ve been reading it on and off for ages. I also admire your ability to cut srtaight through the crap. So it’s disappointing to see how you dismiss Hannah so swiftly as a holocaust denier. Please read her post properly, She is nothing of the sort – at least – you cannot make that judgement on the basis of her comment. Flinging “cunts” to and fro is helpful to noone and diminishes a serious issue.

How interesting that the Catholic Church in Poland condones and encourages an ongoing witch hunt for people having anything to do with the Communist Party before the change of the regime. My parents never joined and have my undying respect for that, but many people did under pressure, and they never did anything more than attend a party meeting. So it’s OK to conduct investigations and drag them to court today, but it’s not OK to point out that the Pope was affiliated with a Nazi organization?
The Church’s hypocrisy has no limits.

Ugh, you rightly know what I mean, and you’re trying to twist my words. I mean people had the choice of doing what the Party said and joining, or be sent to concentration camps themselves. Many soldiers didn’t actively participate or even know of the Holocaust and if they did, they were tried as war criminals or whatever. I’m talking about the simple foot soldiers doing other menial tasks.

My “fucking problem” is the fact that nasty-talking white American women are calling out a religious person for their old-as-the-hills connections to the Nazi party. As Jaimi eloquently and interestingly pointed out, all German families have ties to Nazi Regime whether they like it or not, and it’s gets tiresome to read people calling others out for that fact. Do I personally believe the Catholic Church is a good institution? Hell no, but as a German-born I think it’s deplorable that people say stupid and ignorant things about someone’s heritage. That’s my problem.

And Jaimi, I’m sorry I sounded “condescending,” but my point was that in her comment Bonnie implies that because the former Pope was affiliated with the Party, this makes him a bad person. She also assumes that because he was a Nazi, he MUST have done some deplorable and inhumane acts which I think is incorrect and won’t go into detail here with accounts, but many soldiers were just following orders, just like many American soldiers do today. Can’t they be considered bad people, just like the Nazis? Certainly from certain political standpoints they can be.

I just really want to know what Sister Wolf’s fucking problem is for being a nasty person and only posting how much people are cunts (which unverifiably she is herself), and then taunting people about their own opinions. Someone certainly has a problem, and it isn’t me!
