Hello!
I’m Paula the fashion heroines’ editor and I’m so happy to read all your comments about my post “I love to be a women”. For me it was an absolut surprise that the followers of another great blog comment and talk about my post because my readers don’t talk at all 🙁 Portuguese people seems to me very shame and inside themselves ehehehe!

In what concerns to your comments I agree with the most of them, still I may say that the “ism” things like feminism or “Palinnism” 🙂 and so on seems quite extremist and in some way radical. I don’t like feminism in the way people become extremist and in some what radical ideas are not good. But I’m very grateful to the feminism because it allowed me to be what I am and allowed me to live me in a fair world. In everything in life we must choose balance and yes I’m against radicalism.

Thanks to eveyone who visit my blog and comment my personal point of view. Life is complex and I try to make it simple in order to understand better what’s going on. In the most of the time I do not understand! 🙂 Kisses

Would she love being a woman if women can’t vote, have legal redress for marital rape, can’t go to school, can’t have any career other than ‘secretary’ or ‘teacher,’ and have to wear what men dictate? There’s not much to love about being a woman if being a woman means you have no legal, sexual, or social rights or respect. Feminism is about ensuring female rights so women CAN enjoy being women.

firefly (I love your handle, btw)- I agree. Feminism is nothing more than the belief that people shouldn’t be discriminated against because of their gender, or because they like things associated with that gender.

I have no beef with Fashion Heroines saying she isn’t a feminist, but I wish someone would tell her that you can be your (female, not imitating the worst parts of a male) self and feminism doesn’t go against that.

I look at Fashion Heroines and go…what? Nobody said you can’t enjoy being a woman. Isn’t feminism about EQUALITY for women, and kind of protecting their rights? You can do traditionally female things if you want, no one’s stopping you. Feminism, to me, is about being able to be a woman, no matter what that means to you, without persecution. To be able to say that rape jokes are not funny. To not have to defend myself over my “ghetto” choice of music. And, for everyone, to be able to defy traditional gender roles in society and just be themselves.

When I check my dictionary, it says that feminism is the theory of the political, economic and social equality of women. Somehow that seems okay with me.
