I don’t know what the hell is wrong with people who oppose better gun control.

You did the best thing you could in that situation. But what if the gangsta had followed your LO, or came after you?

I’m against gun control because, given the few options one has in those kinds of situations, I don’t see why I should take one off the table for myself. You can always choose not to use a gun you’re carrying – but you can never use a gun you’re not carrying.

Granted, I’d feel safer if nobody was carrying guns – and that includes the cops and the soldiers, too.

Oi, it’s scary for sure!!! Last year, Mr. Bex and I were waiting for the bus across from our building and this 15-year-old gangbanger wannabe got into an altercation with a rival gangmember (who looked about 11 ). The 15 year old ran up to his house, grabbed a gun and started shooting, in broad daylight, right about the time kids were coming home from school. Mr Bex and I ducked behind the bus stop bench and fortunately the bus rolled up right at that moment, and we got to safety. I busted out crying..first time I had been involved in a crossfire…sheltered much??? But our hood is a Mexican hood, and a couple of different gangs live up the street. Scary shit. Fortunately our landlord ‘s a cop, so knock on wood, our building’s safe.

That was an awful thing that happened, luckily you were not physically attacked.

Your story reminded me of an experience a couple of friends and I had while driving several years ago. This cracked out dude was driving crazily, and my friend who was driving the car we were in, tried to pass him. The dude in the other car obviously got pissed of at that, and pulled out a gun and pointed it to us while we were still driving.
My friend quickly whipped into the closest place we could find to get off the road, and out of his craziness. Luckily nothing more than the fear of death overcame us,
Guns are absolutely too easily gotten.

Oh, Sister … how utterly terrifying. So glad you and your Loved One are both safe, and completely agree that stricter gun control is just common sense. And yet, it keeps slipping away. They passed a conceal and carry law in MN a few years back and I STILL can’t believe it.

That is so scary. Yes, we need tougher gun control. I don’t understand people who don’t understand that fact. Once you’ve had a gun pointed at you or within fifty feet of you, it’s the most startling moment of your life.

What a horrible experience for you and your Loved One.

Who knows why people live their lives “guided” by their egos. That guy wasn’t any more deserving of free passage on the street than anyone else, but he sure seemed to feel he was, and apparently was ready to back up his wrong-headed sense of entitlement with a gun. If I reacted to life’s dozens of daily inconveniences in a similar fashion, a lot of people would be dead.
