I saw the Dali eye brooch in Florida, at the airport of all places. It was brilliant.

I have a theory about the Chinese-faux jewels. They are the same ones that are the “authentic” ones in the shops. I saw an order come at Vivienne W, and they were all in cheap plastic bags just like when you get a “knock-off”.

So little love for Dali and the penis. What’s the deal people?

Got it in one Sister, I used to collect a lot of Westwood jewellery years ago. Shed a lot of it on Ebay.

The one thing I’d still love is one of her snail brooches. It looked so dapper on tweed. Actually, I’d happily take any piece of the snail collection.

And you’re right to be jealous, the safety pins are superb. Crafted in three different shades (gold, silver and gunmetal) and two different, quite large, sizes. They can be linked up to make a bracelet or necklace. They aren’t too penis-y either. Very wearable.

I had only known of a collaboration he had with Schiaparelli , they made a purse with a flashlight that lit up when you opened the purse (duh genius). I had no idea of the other jewelry he made. My mind is now utterly blown.

Westwood’s jewellery turned to shit about 10yrs ago. The quality and fine detail have gone completely. It’s cheapy Chinese now.

Thankfully a lot of the penis jewellery was produced back in the late 80’s/early 90’s so there are decent quality versions (not made in China) still findable.

I have a large collection of rare, hand made, penis safety pins which I love. I once bought my wife a penis necklace, the same as the cufflinks above, but she wasn’t too keen on it…haha. I’m sure its gathering dust in a drawer somewhere.

I know I have one of those metal mouths somewhere too but it’s open, showing teeth. Fuck, you’re bringing to mind stuff I haven’t seen in years. I’ll have to go digging in one of my dusty mountains.

Had no idea it was all Dali inspired, then, Westwood is the great plagiarizer. No surprise. I remember seeing a Chanel brooch much like the Dali weeping eye but far more bejeweled. Seems a lot of people take influence from this wonderful man.

I always thought these Westwood shoes would be perfect for giving someone a good, hard kick up the arse.

I remember seeing a penis belt once, too, which had enlarged versions of the cufflink penis’ strapped all around it like a bullet belt. It was seriously over the top, but brilliant.
