In the photo above, they were 8 year old headbangers. I can&#8217;t remember why they&#8217;re wearing those wacky outfits but I do recall being horrified when Luke&#8217;s mom let him get a bleached mohawk. In fact, she is an amazing mother.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.godammit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/my-darling-max5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5283\" title=\"my darling max5\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.godammit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/my-darling-max5-300x222.jpg?resize=300%2C222\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"222\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/godammit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/my-darling-max5.jpg?resize=300%2C222&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/godammit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/my-darling-max5.jpg?w=497&amp;ssl=1 497w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Max and Luke started a band in our garage, and it lasted until they were young men and had a falling out that broke both their hearts. When Max was hurt last year, Luke came to the hospital and cried at his bedside. Max pulled through and their beautiful friendship was repaired.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.godammit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Luke-and-Max-2010.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5271\" title=\"Luke and Max 2010\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.godammit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Luke-and-Max-2010-300x225.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/godammit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Luke-and-Max-2010.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/godammit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/Luke-and-Max-2010.jpg?w=640&amp;ssl=1 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I know that this was part of Max&#8217;s unfinished business to complete. Luke knows it too.&nbsp;\u00a0 Last week, he wrote this song and I asked him to record it for me:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.godammit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/02-The-Gift.mp3\">&#8220;The Gift&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Under the name <strong>Lucas Revolution<\/strong>, Luke will be hitchhiking around the US performing his songs and documenting the experience.
