  1. Actually I don’t do doc martens but I really do like these! (gulp)

  2. sam says:

I’m sure we’ve seen those before?
80’s ??? Does not mean of course we don’t want again…..
Now that pose – My new look while waiting for the bus :o)

  3. annemarie says:

    fuck.

  4. E says:

I have been curating several dozen pairs of Docs from the 80’s when I wore them first time around. I just need to master that caught-short at the breezy bus stop look and pull my skirt up to ma armpits.

  5. Joy D. says:

Seriously though, think about it. Pastel doc martens?! I would rather like that. I know I will be in the minority in here.

  6. Muffy says:

Sorry, but the Doc’s look like shoes that inmates at the Texas Department of Corrections wear. The shoes say I would rather kick your ass than use my homemade shank.

  7. Dru says:

I like them! Better these than hooker heels, I say. At least if you wanted to kick someone’s ass with these on, you could.

  8. Constance says:

Well My cousin has Hello Kitty docs. And yes you can buy them at the Official doc Shop and yes she’s a grown woman, although sometimes I have my doubts.

  9. annemarie – is that a fuck ‘cos you do want them or a fuck as you have no relevant Bourdieu to quote!

  10. patni says:

I love them. Not without socks though, that would make my feet bleed. I am tiiiired of giant heels.

  11. liz says:

those are cute, but I don’t wear docs, but i would totally wear some pink winklepickers.

  12. Emily Bleak says:

I do like this color – but not enough to go through the agony of breaking in another pair of Doc’s. I went through enough blood and blisters to get my hot pink ones in working condition.

  13. karin says:

Love ’em. What more can I say?

  14. Witch Moma says:

Yes, but I’ve always liked oxfords. It’s the Nun in me.

  15. Grace says:

If the heel wasn’t so giant as to suggest that one was standing on a large cow pattie, these shoes would be more appealing.

  16. Ann says:

You are correct. I want them.

  17. Alicia says:

I would wear the fuck out of those. I’m completely done with heels…at least for now.

  18. candy says:

That’s not my style but the pink is cute on those! Alicia, me too, I am a little tired of heels. In fact, I use to wear them for work when I worked in Europe but then I noticed my toes were changing. Wedges for me are okay but high heels with narrow toes are so bad for the feet.

  19. Christy says:

I’ve had the same pair of 20 hole docs since the ’90s and I have a new (read: bought in the past four years) silver 20 holes. I’ll never get rid of them.

  20. Mathilde says:

Yes I want them to! But why? I won’t wear them, they’ll look ridiculous and I normally quite hate that colour. Clearly I am way too impressionable!

  21. andrea says:

    How did you know?

  22. When I was a student I lived in Docs and thought I’d never wear another shoe/boot. I got a job and soon got over it, but am tempted back by this season’s collection – the white ones are fantastic too.

  23. persephone says:

and they’ll only manage to look good if we’re tall thin and hot

  24. AGREED! I adored this shoot!

  25. Lorena says:

I like them and I’d wear them (and the other pastel shades) but I want the metallic silver/pewter ones even more!

  26. Another old biddy says:

I have two pairs of black 1460 8-eye Docs that I wear daily since fracturing 3 metatarsals in my right foot last year. They were purchased second-hand, I mean, thrifted because I’m cheap and I didn’t want to fork out a couple of hundred smackeroos for some made-in-China/Thailand Docs.

I might be tempted to lash out on a pair of thrifted oxfords (or Mary Janes like the ones I had 20 years ago) after seeing this. 🙂

  27. Perucha says:

I love docs if they are boots. Those shoes are terrible in person. i have this asian friend who thinks it is a good idea to wear those (black, not pink) for the office, with pleated roll-up pants and plaid socks. I think she`s been following The Sartorialist blog for too long and wants to emulate some of the looks she’s seen. Eventually she found a mirror and realized what she was doing to herself.

  28. Jaimi says:

Glad I still have all my Docs. I got a pair of oxblood colored ones made in England (anyone else notice the nosedive in quality between the old ones and the newer ones made in China?) for $16 awhile back. Sweet deal. They really are terrible to break in though. And it’s a real bitch to lace the tall ones.

  29. K B says:

    the sole looks funny.

  30. kt says:

My thoughts exactly when I first got a peek of them.

  31. niki says:

i really want these (in black/silver print), they can live with my other 3 pairs of Docs – except…they no longer make in England! So what’s the point? =/

  32. annemarie says:

Make Do– are you trying to tell me i’m pretentious? damn you, you filthy twat! i’m not as bad as Sting!

  33. Iron Chic says:

I don’t think I am ready for the white t-shirt under spaghetti-strap dress look again. Way too early-Friends-episode.

  34. I fell in lust with a silver holographic glitter pair of Docs in high school that I saw on someone’s feet; the image has haunted me for years. I have never been able to find them–but when I do, I WILL WEAR THEM CONSTANTLY! Also, I will weep with joy.

    Pastel pink though? merp.

  35. Cricket9 says:

Sad that she has to go to the washroom so badly.

  36. stacy says:

I’ve never liked the yellow stitching on Docs so my selection has been limited. My pals used to spray paint them – mostly silver.

  37. tartandtreacly says:

I’ve only ever seen hot pink Doc Martens, so these pale blush pink ones are a revelation!

  38. ooohhh i actually “WANT” them! drool. shoe lust…what else?????

  39. Marky says:

Sad to learn Docs are now made in China.

  40. I still have my original 8-eye docs I bought for my 18th birthday… they’re pretty beaten up but are still on high rotation.

Since then I have accumulated another two pairs of heeled docs (I know right, but they’re AWESOME) and for my 26th birthday have just ordered a pair of 20-eye docs that I’ve wanted for years and years.

Good investments, they’re comfortable (when broken in properly) utilitarian AND fashionable (in cycles of course, in three years I’ll stop wearing them again for a short while but when they’re back in they’ll still be there in excellent condition).

  41. E says:

OOOO!!! Me want! Also oxide green, long docs.
