Now that is a real Christmas story. Terrific!
Happy Holidays to you and many thanks for
the great posts I have enjoyed since finding
    you.

  2. Cricket9 says:

Wonderful story, and, holy crap, that’s some stick!
By the way, SW, remember my Iranian neighbour, ignored by my other neighbours? A few days ago he invited me over “for a coffee”. I went. We chatted about this and that, the weather, the politics and home renovations. I asked about his wife. “She’s in Tehran”. It was time to leave, and then my neighbour suddenly planted a big kiss on me, muttering “happy holidays”. I don’t think I’ll be visiting him while his wife is in Tehran…

  3. TexasArt says:

Great story … What happened to the fence after they moved? Is it still there?

    Happy Holidays!

  4. grace says:

Awesome story Sister W, happy festive season to you too. Don’t know what it feels like to loose a son but talking definitely helps. I lost my brother 2 years ago and every time I call my ma, I remind her of all the good and laughable things he did and it always puts a smile on her face. Yesterday she called to remind me that even though he died at 28 to her, he was always her little boy and that the first time he got drunk at 15 she thought it was the end of her world. Keep the memories of your boy alive! Oh and apparently he threw a fit at 6 when he didn’t get sparkly sneakers for Christmas – we all believe he had a strong feminie side, I mean sparkles for a boy! Sigh

  5. jd says:

have been thinking of you often in the run up to christmas and today….

i’m nobody, just a long time avid reader…i hope things get better for you in general and i hope the pain gets easier for you to cope with (?)…i’m sorry I don’t have the right words

p.s. i love the lesbian stick story you crack me up

  6. Aja says:

  7. Ann says:

You know the Lesbian Stick story is my favorite. All my love to you, today and always.

PS – You’ll note the IP address on this post is based out of Dallas. I am currently stationed at Mr. Ann’s parents’ house.

  8. erika says:

    Happy Christmas : )

  9. Tanya says:

Stolen lesbian sticks are the best sticks of all. Happy Holidays, Sister.

  10. Andra says:

Well, as you know, the lesbian stick is my favourite Sister Wolf story.
It’s taken me 4 odd years (aren’t they all?) but I am currently on the track of a very good Australian lesbian stick and expect to have news in the next week or so.
In the meantime, happy everything and hang in there babe!
    Love
PS: It’s time to revisit Patrick Dennis.

  11. Marky says:

I’m sick, my mouth tastes like Zicam, I’m freezing, I’m broke, and I’m fat, but the Lesbian Christmas Stick story still warms the cockles of my heart!

  12. Sister Wolf says:

Marky – HAHAHAHAHA, just an hour ago I announced to my husband: “I’m a fat old lad with lesbian hair.”

Andra – I cannot wait to see your stick!!!!

  13. Moda says:

Thank you Sister Wolf, it’s been a while. That is my best lesbian story ever and does truly form part of my personal traditions. I am still baffled at how such a tale can make me smile inside – but it does.

  14. dust says:

    This story never fails…
Every time I’m amazed by the size of the stick!
Much love, Baby Jesus will sure agree.

  15. Dru says:

    Cricket9- oh, dear.

Sister and everyone- I hope y’all had a lovely Christmas! Much love and thanks for making a shitty year MUCH more bearable than it would have been without you.

  16. Dave C says:

Warm yuletide greetings from frozen Liverpool. Your Lesbian Stick story is better than any of the crap on tv. In fact, it needs it’s own miniseries. x

  17. patni says:

Love this story! I have a new horrible neighbor to obsess over. I wonder does she have a lesbian stick.

  18. Nickie Frye says:

I couldn’t not read the Lesbian Stick story. I tried not to read it, but I failed. This is my favorite Sister Wolf post yet!

p.s. I’m wearing my Wendy Brandes/Sister Wolf necklace today. I made my husband wrap it & put it under the tree for me & have been waiting patiently for it. I hope the fundraiser is going well. If not, you could consider using the Lesbian Stick to temporarily prop up the roof.

  19. honeypants says:

Hooray for the annual reading of the lesbian stick story! It’s always a heartwarmer. I am so proud to have seen the lesbian stick in person!!! And that photo above is seriously beautiful.

  20. Stella Mayfair says:

i’m such a fan of the lesbian stick! it’s great to re-read it. happy belated holidays to you all.

  21. WendyB says:

    I heart this story.

@Nickie, you have great impulse control! We raised more than $1500. Wish I could have raised the whole $4K!

  22. Awesome. A family that steals lesbian sticks together stays together in heart and soul.

I think that a family in my parents’ neighborhood, a few years ago, stole one of Mom’s lit white plastic deer from the front yard. It was cheap, so she was annoyed but not distressed – until it showed up down the street in someone’s trash day pile a week later. Then she “stole” it back. I think we should have left some lit, white plastic “deer poo” on their front yard but no one listens to my poo deposit suggestions.

  23. I’ve been away with the Mr MDS family for Christmas, I needed the Lesbian Stick story, all these years later it still beats the Queen’s Christmas speech (not that I listen to it!)
