I don’t know about you, but I’ve figured out why I find Abby Lee Kershaw so irresistible.
She looks like a baby. You know all those studies that demonstrate the appeal of baby-like faces? Because we’re instinctively drawn to baby faces? Otherwise we might abandon babies when they cry for ten hours straight or something?
Abby Lee is a perfect baby. I love her. I wish I could open the front door tomorrow morning and find her in a basket, with a letter from the stork!
I’m slightly iffy about the white straggly thing in the second picture, but if it were neater I kind of think it would be great. It just needs a good wash and brush, a bit like a horse!

She’s very pretty, but – no fur for me, unless it’s fake. After watching a video about chinese animal farms where they skin animals alive I’ve become rabid anti-fur person. So sue me.

Eh. She looks as if fangs would show if she smile. IMO She looks like a devil baby. Sweet, until you take away her fur; then those fangs will show.
I do think she’s gorgeous, and you’re right — because she looks like a baby. There is another model (I think she is British) who looks even MORE like a baby. Her name escapes me right now, but she has a big gap in between her two front teeth, which I think looks really pretty on women with beautiful faces.

Sister, you’d probably love Gemma Ward (another Aussie) even more, if it’s possible she looks like even more of a baby than Abbey Lee and is now in the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

I’m pretty sure Hallie is thinking of Lindsey Wixson, who scares me a little because she looks even more like a baby than a real baby does…like a hyper-baby…sort of in the same creepy mode as the Bratz dolls (extremely exaggerated features).
I completely second the Abbey Lee shout out! She is my favorite (second only to Freja of course) and I’ve heard she is really nice to work with on shoots as well. Always makes me like ’em even more…
She’s gorgeous & I’m jealous of that first jacket. I think it’s feathers, no? I can’t wear real fur. I live in the Bay Area. 😉

To be honest I don’t think she is ugly and I am sure she is a model with a normally thin body structure. That being said, she freaks me out a bit.

Yeah, I like the babydoll models too. I mean, I LOVE the Afghan hound types, but I will always have a special place in my heart for the babydolls. My favourite is Vlada, though she’s all grown-up nowadays.
I don’t think it’s because I’m particularly maternal (I’m freaked out by babies in real life! They’re so fragile and so odd, like little aliens…) but more because those girls represent like, my ultimate fantasy teenage self (yeah, I KNOW.) It wasn’t fun growing up as a short, stocky, angry little Asian geek in glasses and fatigues, and while in retrospect I wouldn’t trade the experiences I had for anything, there’s always the part of me that wonders what it would have been like to be a tall, blue-eyed sylph/Disney woodland creature.
But Lily Cole freaks me out. She’s all ~*womanly*~ now, but her face looks like she should still be teething.
She looks like that because she has lost so much weight. Same as Gemma Ward, they look like dolls. At least Gemma is a normal weight now
Kinda creepy. Baby faces are only heart meltingly adorable when they belong to actual babies. On adult females and particularly models… it’s fucking creepy.
Babies are fat and cuddly bundles of joy who fill you with warmth. This model [a fellow Australian who funnily enough should be in your ‘Sister Wolf’s shIt Girls Brigade’] leaves me cold… that last photo… ever read ‘Beloved’ by Toni Morrisson? Yeah. Right there. That’s that baby for you.
Hmmm… Jane Aldridge has a baby face. Yet you loathe her. What’s the difference between Jane being a consumer monster and a model-baby getting paid squillions for being a consumer monsters muse?

I think the reason I like her is because she is sort of the antithesis of Alexa Chung. Abbey has a baby face, but she dresses like such an eccentric… 90s clunky boots, floor length hippie skirts, furry coats, lots of big crystal rings…
Whereas Alexa wears little baby doll dresses with lace collars and mary jane flats, but has the face of a grown woman. Which is weird, to me. But maybe I am just biased because I rarely ever like her style.
I’ve never really understood her appeal. She looks a bit like a creepier version of an Olsen twin to me- and I’ve never liked the Olsen twins, so…

big baby doe eyes. ever notice in japanese cartoons they always draw the children with big, round eyes?…whether they are asian or not. big, round eyes=cuteness.
She reminds me of Mena Suvari in American Beauty, who was for all intents and purposes a baby masquerading as a slut.
Though if I think too hard about it I start thinking that Abbey actually looks like Georgia May Jagger, who I can’t stand. So the baby thing will do.
