Bjork and Sigur Ros

Hello Icelanders! I wanted to reach out to you guys, since my google tracker thingy reveals that none of you visit me here at Godammit.com.   I love Bjork, especially her swan dress by that designer with the funny name. I love her full eyebrows and her website is amazing. I love that her boyfriend is that nutcase Matthew Barney, who made a 12 hour film about his testicles.

I also love Sigur Ros! Their sound is so weird and haunting! Is everything in Iceland weird and haunting, actually? Let me know!

Not from Iceland but still of interest, take a look at these leather shorts by Camilla Staerk. I could never wear them and yet I feel deprived by not having them. Go and buy them at Oak, but then I’ll be mad at you.

I too will never forget the swan dress. Sublime! But the shorts?! No, no. Add suspenders and , well ewwww. Also they have pleats! I adore you Sister Wolfe. But not these shorts.
About Iceland, I was there once when our plane from London to L.A. lost an engine. Everything is weird. Haunting not so much.

Are you thinking ‘Lederhosen’ about the shorts? Are you trying to ruin them for me?!

I already have a pair of vintage ones, for free! please don’t send the swan dress to beat me up though. i love your blog and having to go to the hospital to treat my injuries would mean no internets.

Sæl Ég er stelpa frá Reykjavík… Hi I am a girl from Reykjavík.
Iceland is a fabulous place to live in and yes it is weird and haunting.
Talk to almost any modern-day Icelander and they smile upon the mention of hidden people, trolls and elves — but few will deny them! Many relate personal visits to fortune tellers, special card readings and having old aunt, or two with “the magic eye”. This special supernatural power enables her to communicate with the other world.
Oh, yes… Björk is a quirky person, she is who she is.. her self.. and has never lost her identity. She was in my english class when I was 14-15 yrs would always sit in the back and bring her “chequered thermos” filled with black coffee which she would drink in class. I thought back then and still think that Björk is fab.
I take a lot of pictures from the nature and daily life in Iceland plenty pics from the náttúra concert hosted by Björk & sigur Rós -you got my email.
Good rule of thumb in Iceland — always be kind to strangers. You never know who (or what) they might be.
