What an honor to receive the gift of fan art. At least that’s what I’m calling this beautiful picture from Tanya, a sweet and talented follower of Godammit.com. This is actually how I see myself a lot of the time. I love it, Tanya!
Pretty soon, I’m going to go into fund-raising mode. I may use Kickstarter or I may just beg. I am drowning in debt and the roof is leaking in the kitchen. I can’t get a job because I can’t get a job. Mr. Sister Wolf is working long hours but the hole gets deeper.
Any ideas for money-raising projects, please share them!
Any small donations, click on the Virgin Mary thing on the right.
Blessings either way, xo
I think we need to do a fund raiser for you. You need some respite and money will help. We all understand why you can’t work.
My suggestion is we hold a ‘Sell Your Shoes for Sister’ week. We have to pick one pair of shoes to sell on our blogs or you get super talented Charlie to set up a site where we can send picks and people can offer an amount and then the shoes get sent to them. Many of us might end up buying each others but it could go wider.
I liked the t-shirt idea.
There will be a day for a five dollar peck on red lips. There will be a large wide wall with small cut outs (holes) and each hole will will have a pair of red lips in it.
Yes…I will volunteer right beside you and others that feel naked without red lips.
Oh my goodness!!! I checked in just as I do daily and had the pants knocked off of me! I’m so glad you liked it – it was a “thank you” for introducing me to Shopbop.
Jenny from MFAMB is so good at rallying people…Maybe we could organize an auction.
I realize that it is difficult for a lot people to give financially at this time, but even a little bit would be helpful. Please consider this blog as a subscription to a free magazine. SW puts in the effort and we come back to be entertained, moved, and intellectually stimulated by the words of a talented writer. Please help.
I’d buy a t-shirt, and would participate in the Sell Your Shoes raiser – that’s actually adorable and I’d bid if there was anything in my size, too. (10 ladies in the house?)
A few friends of mine are having a decent time picking items from charity shops and reselling them on Etsy Vintage; you don’t have to give things an insane markup like they do in the high street shops, but with a good eye you can turn a few bucks, especially in areas that are flooded with trendy stuff. (SW US sellers are hawking Pendleton-esque blanket prints on everything on Etsy these days, for instance.)
Mishelle – I like this idea. You always have the best red lips. Please set this up!!!
Tanya – xoxoxo
so – T-shirts, you think?? Have to redesign then, so few people liked the red one. Maybe a simple “What a Fucking Cunt! tm or “FASHION JEW” ?
Situation is pretty desperate. Keep ideas coming!!!!
“Purrfect like Jesus”
Re: Silly Paintbrush Art – What about selling background wallpaper for a small fee? I would be happy to donate. Do you think people would like that other one I sent you-the “Sea of Delusion” one?
I would totally buy a “Fashion Jew” tshirt!! And a “WAFC” tee too (but I don’t think I’d be able to wear it in public)!!
I would love, LOVE a t-shirt with your banner – the nun and “Godammit, I’m Mad and I’m getting madder”. I would wear it proudly – it’s my state of mind very often lately…
Tanya – I love the Sea picture. But didn’t post because she is already awash in fan art and probably feels important enough for her own good. xo
Cricket9 – Did you know that the nun has the same name as me?? I’ll ask my webmaster about t-shirts.
If everyone donated just $5, I could get a roof! But of course, everyone has their own financial worries. (sad face thingy here)
i’ll donate in any way, even just blatantly sending you money. setting up a fundraiser takes time and it sounds like you need it pretty much right away.
Yeah…. I sort of didn’t think that it would be worth offering because it might get misinterpreted as Sea “fan art” however satirical the implications may be. I agree with Kirsten …. Just donate a few dollars, Gentle Readers.
I’ll donate $5 Sister Wolf.
where do I send it? x
I know what it’s like to not be able to work, go to class, leave the house..
Have you thought about putting ads on the blog? Not sure where you stand with that, but I’m sure you have the traffic
Either way, sending you what I can, hope it helps xo
Sell prints of this photo: http://www.godammit.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/poor-little-14-hippiegirl.jpg and have one of your interesting anecdotes printed on the back? x
The picture on this post would make a beautiful t-shirt!
Someone said something about an auction? I could auction off a piece of jewelry on my blog!
Oooh, I’m with James!! Sell prints of that photo!
I’ll do a painting of you on a jacket and maybe Sea will buy it for thousand of $$!!
I third James’s great idea!
James – THANKS, everyone seems to like that pic so much! That could be a great idea, tho it makes me feel kind of egotistical..
queen michelle – Hahahahaha! She would only buy it for target practice.
miss cavendish – It’s beautiful, isn’t it! I’d wear a t-shirt with it, definitely.
honeypants – You are the best. Everyone go look at honeypants’ stuff!
Esme – There’s a “Patrons” thingy on the right column.
THANK YOU SO MUCH to you sweet readers who’ve sent donations. It is taking the edge off the panic and it is very meaningful to me. I will try to make it up to you with love & blessings & whatever else I can do xo
ok Sister. I tried it earlier and there were no donate buttons! x
I like the Sell Your Shoes idea from Make Do. I definitely have some shoes to spare which could use loving new homes.
@ Esme. You can’t see the button if you’re in the comment section. When you first enter the site, you are able to see the “Our Lady” button in the top right hand corner. It is right by the search field.
For what it’s worth, I really like the tee idea – and you don’t necessarily need to incorporate graphics – just some text spelling out some of your most pithy phrases might work very nicely! (and add your website URL on the back of the tee – instant promotion as well). Bands can usually afford to print tees and sell them for $10 – $20 I’m sure you could do the same and add a little mark up.
On the tee front, I like Cricket9’s suggestion of “Godammit I’m Mad and I’m Getting Madder”, and Tanya’s “Sea of Delusion”. “What a fucking cunt!” is so great too. Imagine the possibilities – wear it underneath a buttoned up jacket or cardigan and then if you come across someone in your day who is being a right ass and you’re gritting your teeth trying to be civil to them, just casually unbutton the jacket/cardi to reveal what you’re really thinking underneath. Priceless! PLEASE do it!
James’ idea of the print is good too.
Perhaps you could get Charlie or your webmaster to add a ‘Store’ section to your website and over time develop a range of items that people could buy. I know it’s going down the road of the personal branding thing that you love to hate but maybe sometimes it’s inevitable. Especially if the brand is as kick ass as yours is!
Elizette – that is a genius suggestion, a store would be fab!
ooooh a store! you definitely need a ‘crazy mothers club’ t-shirt, mug, pen, and bag collection so I can give it to my mom for christmas…the fucking cunt.
Yes, a store please! The nun is priceless, please do tell more about her SW!
there’s a ton of places online where you can have tees printed- you wouldn’t need to pre-print them either or put any money in- just take orders and then have them made and shipped directly to customer.
I started making the necklace last night. I hope to finish it by this weekend, then I’ll put the auction thingy on my blog and you can link to it here. It’s not necessarily what everyone else has in mind – the T-shirt ideas are great, but I don’t wear T-shirts, so I was trying to think of something else. (Though Mr. Honeypants still regularly wears his P.A.P. Smear baseball shirt!)
In the jewelry makers blog world, there’s this guy everyone adores. He recently had surgery for skin cancer, and was worried about how his unemployed artist self would pay his hospital bills. So a LOT of his blogger friends did the auction off a piece of jewelry thing. I thought that was a fantastic idea, so I’m happy to be able to put it to use for such an awesome cause here. I just hope everyone will like my necklace enough to start a bidding war on it!
Can’t wait to see the necklace, Honeypants!!!
You should do a licensing deal with Mac – I would buy anything from a sister wolf collection.
(I will buy you a gold tooth and a cadilac when I am rich)
Sorry to be so late. I will happily sell my shoes for Sister, or anything else for that matter. Will go and click on Our Lady at once, and start racking my royal brains for fund raising ideas.
With much love
QM

Omigod that painting is fab. Definitely made to be framed and hung over the mantle.
