Fashion vs Porn, Part 2

irina-poor-girl2

I subscribed to a fashion blog called Fashion Copious a few weeks ago, and felt increasingly creeped out by its contents.

Today, upon realizing that I’ve become more familiar with Kristen McMenamy’s waxed landing strip that I am with my own Female Area, it suddenly hit me: This isn’t fashion, it’s porn. Soft porn, to be sure, but still. The focus of this blog is not just naked models, but very young naked models. The girl above looks like a starving pre-adolescent, but the blog’s author finds her rapturously beautiful.

Who the hell is this guy, anyway? Does anybody know his credentials, besides a keen appreciation of nude models?   With every post, he has a feature called “What My Girls are Liking” that usually features trampy girls posing in trampy outfits. What does he mean, “My Girls?” Is he a pimp or a modeling agency or what?

I feel tainted and ashamed. Sorry, naked young models! Please go home now and have something to eat!

  1. Opps. He should be reported, that is borderline grooming!

  2. skye says:

There are a few of those creepy wannabe modeliser blogs around. I never visit any of those blogs which feature skinny chicks in tank tops smoking so I’m out of the loop on this guy – seems like some saddo wanking away in his bedroom to me.

  3. arline says:

The first thing that came to my mind was anorexic.

Then I looked at his blog.

“what my girls are liking…. Is looking like they have been beaten up”

    Very sad

  4. Queen Michelle says:

I’ve never even heard of this site. I had a look and it seems that when he says “what my girls are liking” he’s talking about what other bloggers are liking, as they are all links to blogs like Knight Cat and so on.

  5. Jill says:

I agree…I stopped visiting his blog a while back. Plus, I’m not that into chicks. I enjoy my gay sites much better.

  6. HelOnWheels says:

Wow. His site freaks me out. When did abused and anorexic looking girls become the hot thing? I must not get it. This isn’t even “heroin chic”; it’s “call child protective services” disturbing. I keep seeing “PEEDO” in larger, red, flashing, neon letters in my mind. Wondering if this guy participated/watched that website that counted down the days to the Olsen twins’ barely legal status. Eeewww.

  7. Alicia says:

    Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  8. sam says:

I was going to say that
    eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
    but with more e’s!

  9. daniel says:

…definate creepy adolescent exploitation…i guess pedo’s lurk in all industries…

  10. Bevitron says:

Ewwwww is right. How thoroughly unpleasant and upsetting.

And, hey, how did this anorexic-looking worship thing get started, anyway? Doesn’t this culture adore youth and fear age and all that? Overweightness might make a person look older but emaciation makes a person look really ancient! Frail, drawn, attenuated! Mummy-like, withered! Wizened, even.

Doesn’t it? Seems like it to me, anyway.

  11. erika says:

There are so many naked pictures of models nowadays I am wondering what are we selling exactly ? Boobs ?

  12. I’m just going to trust you all and not click on the site. And when I see these young girls on such sites in compromising situations, all I wonder is where’s their family? Poor kids.

  13. Naked models don’t usually bother me, except when they look 12 like this poor girl. The mother in me makes me think, where are her parents?

  14. Sister Wolf says:

Make DO – Oh it gets much worse!

Skye – If he stayed in his bedroom it would be alright with me.

    arline – Yes!!

Queen Michelle – God, you’re lucky he doesn’t include you then. Maybe he can intuit that you’re over 12?

Jill – Same here. send me some links!

Style Spy – Hahahaha, so succinct.

HelOnWHeels – Why did it take me so long to get offended?? I’m worried.

    Alicia – I hear you.

    sam – you toooooooooooooo.

    daniel – ick!

Bevitron – Yeah, at a certain level of frailness, it’s like a little old lady, not good at all.

    erika – they’re selling insecurity, I guess.

fashion herald – You’re already thinking like a mom!

Iheartfashion – It’s the tone of that blog…leering and drooling. Don’t look at it.

  15. His very first ‘What My Girls are Liking’ post states…

“Well they’re not my girls, but a few of the younger female bloggers, who’s spiffy point of view keeps me on my toes. You may call them a muse for the blog, whose younger, feminine perspective even makes me blush once in a while.”

He uses the words ‘younger’ and ‘female’ twice.

    I feel bile rising.

  16. Ibod Catooga says:

I detect a lot of jealousy in this thread. As well as not knowing the definition of porn other than, “I disapprove of this.”

    Philistines.
